| Roughly speaking, Samurai (Bushi)
corresponds to Knight at Middle Ages in Europe. It would
be correct to say that Geisya
in Ukiyo-e and Samurai were symbol of The Japanese.
Though it's unbelievable, the following episode illustrates
completely Samurai's readiness for honorable death and
his courage. A famous Samurai in old Japan, Katuie
Shibata(A.D.1522-1583) had not only cut his stomach by
himself, but pulled out his bowels and flung it at his
enemies, when his enemies had cut off his retreat. And,
all his enemies admired the valiant behavior. As Samurai,
readiness for honorable death was all. Since Japanese
people's character is the reflection of Samurai's
spirits, our shop has gathered Samurai items. |
